1. No member or competitor may bring any horse or
pony, which has a suspected or confirmed illness, onto the show ground. Nor must they bring any horse or pony from any yard
or farm where there is any suspected or confirmed illness. Any person having an animal suspected of being ill will be asked
to leave the show ground.
2. Hard hats of standard BSEN 1384 with three point fixing must
be worn at all times when riding or mounted on the show ground. Chinstraps must be fastened. The wearing of a bowler is not
permitted.
3. No rider will be allowed to enter any ring unless suitably dressed. Jodhpur boots or riding boots must
be worn at all times. Riding jackets must be worn in all classes except at the judge's discretion.
4. Competitors must enter the ring when requested to do so. Failure
to do so unless it is with the judge's permission, will result in elimination from the class.
5. No whips or spurs may be used in lead rein events. No whips or canes exceeding thirty inches (75cms) may
be carried or used in any ridden or showing class. Competitors who do so will be eliminated from the class.
6. Membership cards must be produced on request. Members who do
not cpmply may be asked to pay non-members entry fees for their class
7. Entry fees will only be refunded in the event of a class being cancelled or on the production of a vetinary
certificate.
8. Any colt or stallion must be
handled by a competent adult at all times and will only be allowed to enter a class with prior permission.
9. All objections must be made to the comittee within one hour of
the an incident occurring. This must be made on the Form Of Objection available from the secretary's tent and a fee of
£20 (twenty Pounds) must be deposited with the objection. This fee will be returned if the objection is upheld. Competitors
must not make verbal appeals to members of the committee or judges, but must use the written procedure.
10. Riders must not canter on the show ground. All offenders will
be asked to leave the show grouns.
11. Objectionable
language or behaviour will not be tolerated and may lead to exclusion from the club.
12. No horse or pony under the age of
four years may enter a riding or jumping class. No horse or pony over the age of three years may enter a young stock class.
13. Once a competitor has entered a ring they may not receive
any form of outside assistance. 14. Points will only be awarded to
the horse named on the entry slip. If a horse is known by more than one name, it is the responsibility
of the person making the entry to ensure that the name is used throughout the championship shows in the season.
15. Lead-reins
who are in the last year of lead-rein competition may compete in other classes as non-competitive entries.
16. Dogs must be kept on
the lead at all times on the show ground on show days.
17. The committee reserves the right to measure any horse or pony in
the event of any queries or objections in any of the height classes. Any competitor who refuses to comply
with this rule will not be allowed to enter the horse/pony in question in any other club event.
18. Members must be prepared
to park their vehicles in places designated by club officials. Failure to comply with such request will
result in being asked to leave the show ground.
19. Each competitor may use the practice jumps only immediately prior
to their competing round in either working hunter or show jumping class.
20. No bicycles are allowed on any part of the showground.
21. At each show the original
judges sheets and the points book will be available for members to check
points from the previous show and to raise any queries or objections they may have. No objections will
be considered unless they are raised at this time. All points not questioned will be considered final and binding.
22 Any change
of rider or handler after an entry has been made must be made known to
the secretary prior to entering the ring.
23 Any member who abuses or threatens, in any way, any
fellow member or committee member of any riding club will be excluded from the club and banned from all
subsequent club events.
24 Attendance points will only be awarded if both horse and rider actually compete in the class.
25 To qualify for points towards trophies, all members must
have entered their qualifying classes for a mimimum of three shows with the same horse/rider combination.
