DEFINITION OF CLASSES                     

GREEN HORSE/PONY Horse or Pony to be 6 years of age or under. Not to have won a green horse, novice or showing class prior to this  Season. Must be shown in a snaffle.

 OPEN NOVICE  Any height. Rider/horse combination not to have won a novice or ridden showing class before at any show. This season’s winners can enter this class until the end of the season. Must be shown in a snaffle

LEAD REIN  Rider not to have attained their 9th birthday by Jan. 1st of the current year.

FIRST RIDDEN Rider not to have attained their 10th birthday by Jan 1st of current year. Lead rein competitors Wishing to compete in this class may only do so As a non-compet .

VETERAN Horse or Pony to be 15yrs or over

COB To qualify for championships must be 15.1 or under.

EQUITATION  All equitation classes must be ridden in a snaffle.This includes the Pairs Class.

JUVENILE Rider not to have attained their 13th birthday by Jan 1st of current year.

JUNIOR Rider not to have attained their 16th birthday by 1st Jan of the current year.

YOUNGSTOCK Horse or Pony to be 3 years or under.

NOVELTY Handler not to have attained 13th birthday by Jan 1st of current year. Pony to be 14.2 or under.

NOVICE WHP &JUMPING  Same applies as in Novice Showing, except a snaffle is not compulsory

PURE/PART BRED ARAB Must be registered with the Arab Horse Society in order to qualify for Ponies UK, Cherif, NCPA or any other qualifyer needing proof of registration to enter the championship.

RIDDEN SHOWING Horse/PONY should be plaited except in Native/Cob/Traditional in Coloured/Spotted/Palamino classes.

M&M Includes any Native breeds.

IN HAND SHOWING both 14.2hh and under and Over 14.2 hh classes must be plaited.

Racehorse to Riding Horse Must have been previously raced. To be shown plaited.

FOREIGN BREEDS Include Haflingers, Fresians, Fjords, Aldasusian, Lusitano, Caspian, Quarter Horse, Saddlebred, Peruvian and Lipizzaner. Open to pure breds with respective breeds society. Not Warmbloods, Spotteds, Irish Draughts, Arabs.
 

RIDING HATS SHOULD CONFORM TO EN1384 & ASTM F1163/SEI and must be fastened at all times Anyone not doing so will be asked to leave the ring.

 

 

Ponies must be under 12.2HH to compete in Lead Rein and First Ridden
